On March 26, 2025 Wuxi International Month and International Cherry Blossom Festival was held. Wux Instittue of Technology (WXIT) invites international friends including leaders of overseas partner institutions, representatives of foreign teachers and international students to attend this activity.
In the morning, international friends gathered at the Yuantouzhu Cherry Blossom Valley to watch the opening ceremony performance and enjoy the cherry blossoms. The area of cherry blossom trees reaches 650,000 square meters, which is one of the top three cherry blossom viewing destinations in the world. The blooming cherry blossoms become a unique symbol of Wuxi set in the vibrant spring scenery of Taihu Lake.Professor Basri, Vice President of Indonesia Trisakti School of Transportation and Logistics stated, The cherry blossom scenery in Wuxi is so beautiful! I will bring my students back to Wuxi in spring next year!
In the afternoon, international friends visited the Jiangnan Peach Garden in Yangshan Town, where they toured the modern agricultural industrial park and the Shannan Cultural and Art Village. They were impressed by the technological innovation and industrial upgrading of revitalization in China.
The blooming cherry blossoms carry the deep friendship of the people and demonstrate the vigorous vitality of Wuxi's high-level opening up. In recent years, Wuxi has established economic and trade relations with over 220 countries and regions around the world. 118 Fortune Global 500 companies have invested and set up 248 foreign-funded enterprises in Wuxi. More than 12,000 enterprises in Wuxi have been deeply engaged in the international market. The number of international friendly cities has increased to 51. Last year, the total foreign trade import and export volume exceeded 770 billion yuan. The level of urban internationalization and economic openness has been continuously improving, and the circle of friends with foreign countries has been expanding.
