From December 29th to 31st, the annual conference of the Foreign Students Education Management Research Committee of Jiangsu Higher Education Society was successfully hold in Wuxi Institute of Technology (WXIT). More than 200 representatives from various universities, government departments and enterprises across the province, as well as relevant leaders including Yang Shubing, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Li Yanguang, Director of the Department of Management of International Students of China Scholarship Council, Ma Jiaxiang participated this conference.
In his speech, Yang Shubing, on behalf of the Provincial Education Department, reviewed and summarized the work of international student education in 2024, and set expectations in 2025. We will continuously engage in expanding the scale of enrollment and improve the quality of international education. In speeches, Li Yanguang, Director of the National Commission for International Studies, and Han Jian, Professor of Nanjing University, respectively made reports on the the Belt and Road policy and international educational situation.
At the meeting, Zhang Haijun, Secretary general of Jiangsu Graduate and Management Association, read out the Outstanding Contribution Award for International Students' Education in Jiangsu Colleges and Universities in 2024. The leaders presented outstanding contribution awards to 10 universities. In the afternoon, the representatives visited WXIT and observe the spot of laboratory and training room for international students. After that, visitors have a discussion on vocation training for international students as well as related courses. Zhang Xiaoming, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department of WXIT, presided over the discussion and report of the undergraduate group and vocational Education Group of the meeting.
