In order to promote “Learning in Jiangsu” initiative and continuously improve the education of international students in China, the Foreign Students Education Research Committee of Jiangsu Higher Education Society organized the Foreign Students' Teaching Competition in Jiangsu Universities in 2024. Besides teaching prize, WXIT also won the Excellent Organization Award in 2024.
The competition provided a platform for teachers who engaged in international student education in Jiangsu province. The participants are teacher from different colleges who engaged in Chinese language and cultural courses. WXIT has always been encouraging teachers to innovate in teaching to better serve students' academic needs, and this is the best way to move education forward. Sixty-three contestants from Jiangsu were awarded the second and the third prize.
According to the director from Foreign Students Education Research Committee, China Association of Higher Education, the event will sharpen teaching skills, which would help stimulate international students' holistic development and bolster the talent cultivation system. The contest serves as an effective way to select outstanding teachers, and will motivate teachers who are focused too much on research to improve pragmatic teaching skills.
