On the morning of November 13, Mike Fitzpatrick, Dean of the School of Art, Shannon University of Technology, Ireland, Michael O 'Dowd, Dean of the department, and Meng Jing, Director of Asia, Shannon University of Technology, Ireland, came to visit Wuxi Institute of Technology (WXIT). WXIT President Zhou Guijin, Wu Huiyuan and relevant staff in charge of Irish College and International Exchanges Office participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, President Zhou Guijin, on behalf of WXIT, warmly welcomed the delegation of TUS, and he spoke highly of the achievements made by both sides from the sino-foreign institution Ireland college. Based on the solid foundation of cooperation, the two colleges will have more confidence in carrying out in-depth cooperation in the field of international education in the future.
Mike Fitzpatrick, Dean of the School of Art from Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of WXIT and introduced the basic situation of the School of Arts in Ireland. He expressed that the two colleges have worked closely in the field of art and design, and cultivated a large number of skilled talents with international vision. He hoped to strengthen communication and cooperation in the future, and jointly promote the sustainable development of cooperation projects.
Subsequently, the delegation from TUS had a discussion with teachers from the School of Design and Art of WXIT, and visited some studios, experimental training rooms and Jiangnan cultural inheritance and innovation base. During the visiting, the delegation spoke highly of the relevant construction achievements. In the afternoon, the delegation had a dialogue with the students of the Irish College of 2023 and 2024, and answered the relevant questions raised by the students about study and life in Ireland, which was warmly received by the scene.
Through exchange activities, the cooperative relationship between WXIT and TUS has been further strengthened, and the professional cooperation and personnel training between the two colleges have been deepened. TUS is a multi-campus university spread across seven campuses throughout Ireland’s Midwest and Midlands region. By providing a healthy supply of high-quality graduates and an additional focal point for growth and innovation, they help regional development take a big step forward in Ireland.
