I.Application Materials
(I) International students must present the college's Admission Notice;
(II) Form JW202;
(III) Applying for X1 (long-term students) or X2 (short-term students) visas at the embassies and consulates of the People's Republic of China stationed abroad with foreigners' physical examination records and other relevant materials.
Note: After applying for an entry visa in their home country, international students must keep the Admission Notice and the yellow copy of Form JW202 in order to apply for a residence permit after entry. Visa-free entry is not allowed.
II. Application Deadline
Students who plan to study in China for more than 180 days (based on the time on the admission letter) will be issued an X1 visa. The X1 visa is valid for 30 days after entry, and students need to apply for a residence permit for study through the college within 30 days after entry. Students who plan to study in China for less than 180 days will be issued an X2 visa. X2 visa is usually issued with validity up to 30-180 days after entry, which means once leaving the country after entry, it will not be allowed to enter China with this visa again.
III. Notes
(I) Visa-free entry or entry on tourist or family visit visas cannot apply for study visas or residence permits.
(II) According to the regulations of the National Immigration Administration, international students who plan to study in China for more than 180 days can apply for a residence permit for study. International students who plan to study in China for less than 180 years, their X2 visas cannot be converted into study-type residence permits.
(III) Holders of non-study visas cannot study at Wuxi Institute of Technology. If foreigners are found to engage in activities inconsistent with their visa type, they may face fines, warnings, detention, deportation and other penalties according to specific circumstances.
