The 2018 National Vocational College Skills Competition was held in Tianjin on May 6th. 8 teams from WXIT participated. As of the evening of November 11th, results of 3 categories have been announced. We won the first prize in e-commerce skills competition, marking our institute’s best achievement in history in arts. In addition, our institute also secured the second prize in the application of industrial robot technology and Internet of Things technology.
E-Commerce Skills Competition consisted of 86 teams across the country. Each team was required to simulate the online shop operating environment according to the theme, and to complete the relevant tasks in three aspects: shop decoration design, customer service and online shop operation. Players were asked to open online shop both in English and Chinese, answer customers’ questions within the limited time, and attract more customers and seize market share to adjust business strategy through online competition. Sun Zhaojie, Xing Yuansi, Liu Shuang from School of Management and Liang Fuwen from College of Art and Design were the members of the team. Thanks to the guidance of our teachers as well as hard training before the competition, after seven and a half hours of competition, they finally ranked among the top three, winning the first prize.
Wang Jun, Nie Yang and Jiang Xin from the College of Control Technology, guided by Lu Rong and Wang Hai-rong, won the second prize In the Industrial Robot Technology Application Competition held from May 6th to 8th. The Internet of Things Technology Application Competition concluded on May 9th. A team consisting of Zhu Xuewen, Hu Tianrui and Gu Hui from School of Internet Technology, with Huang Chongpeng, Qiu Xiaorong as instructors, also won the second prize.
The National Vocational College Skills Competition, which has been held for 11 consecutive years, has been closely following China's industrial transformation. The competition is closely linked to the actual production and industrial hot spots, and timely reflects the regional economic development trends and business needs. For example, with the update of business model and content brought by the progress of Internet technology, cross-border e-commerce has been added to the e-commerce skills competition this year. Players are required to design and typeset the product pages according to the preferences of foreign customers, testing players’ business promotion, art design and foreign language skills; Industrial robot technology application competition this year has also made a big adjustment, in view of the equipment manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading of the requirements of post skills improvement, paying more attention to the combination of Internet + and intelligent manufacturing, aiming for improving the level and quantity of talents in the field of industrial robot system technology.
