On October 28, China-Malaysia Vocational Education Cooperation Dialogue was held successfully online. The Dialogue was one of the important bilateral meetings of the 21st China Annual Conference on International Education. Themed on vocational education exchange and cooperation, the Dialogue discussed the status quo, features, development trends and cooperation possibilities in integrating education with industries for vocational education in China and Malaysia.
At the opening ceremony, Liu Limin, chairman of China Education International Exchange Association, and director of Vocational Education Department of the Malaysian Ministry of Education delivered speeches, Ren Zhanying, chief of Comprehensive Reform Division of Vocational Educational and Adult Education Department of China’s Ministry of Education, senior deputy director of Vocational Education of Malaysian Ministry of Education, and Jiang Bo, vice chairman of China Adult Education Association made keynote speeches.
At the conference, 6 representatives of vocational institutes and 2 company representatives from China and abroad shared their cooperation achievements and successful experience. President Gong Fanghong delivered a keynote speech on the Innovative Project on Multi-Dimensional In-depth Cooperation between China and Malaysia, and shared our experience. The project is guided by the principle of sharing resources and leveraging advantages of each other, through faculty and students exchanges, international cooperation in professional talent and faculty training, establishing overseas mandarin center and participating in the social services of enterprises, China and Malaysia were able to carry out cooperation on multi fronts and at various levels. Mutual recognition of credit points and diploma, and sharing of education achievements have been realized. With these being accomplished, WXIT and its counterparts have set an example to the innovative development of internationalized talent, faculty building, quality development of internationalized education and building of first-class international education brands.
President Gong Fanghong pointed out that the cooperation between China and Malaysia would go deeper and set more new examples. The cooperation will go wider and deeper on the existing basis. WXIT will join hands with foreign institutes in pursuing quality development of vocational education, so as to better respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and the need for talent when Chinese enterprises seek global presence, and attract more foreign students to study at WXIT.
