On December 22nd, the second meeting of the Belt and Road education committee was held successfully in the form of online video conference. As the only member from higher vocational colleges, WXIT president Gong Fanghong was invited to make a speech as well as the other 14 online participants from Fudan University, Zhejiang Universtiy, Renmin University of China and the other undergraduate institutions.
The high-level of “the belt and road”forum was the second event in a series of online seminars organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), with the online participation of presidents from 17 famous universities in China, who elaborated their thoughts on the development of “the belt and road”in the field of International Education. WXIT President Gong Fanghong delivered a speech entitled “New Mission and Solutions on International Education in the Post-Epidemic Era”. He pointed out that higher vocational colleges have always been important participants in the progress of International Community. In the post-epidemic era, it is more important for higher vocational colleges to strengthen cooperation to achieve the development. During the epidemic period, Wuxi Institute of Technology (WXIT) has insisted on international exchanges continuously, and has prepared for the next phase of international cooperation and exchange through a number of initiatives. At the same time, we have consolidated cooperative relationships and explored a very practical approach to attracting international students to study at WXIT. President Gong Fanghong also expressed his hope to take this high-level forum as an opportunity to further enhance the mutual understanding and trust.
