WUXI, Oct. 30, 2026 — A delegation from Jakarta Global University (JGU), Indonesia, visited Wuxi University of Technology (WXUT) on the morning of October 30, with the two sides pledging closer and more practical cooperation in smart manufacturing, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and new energy vehicles.
Yang Xueqin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of WXUT, received the delegation together with leaders and faculty from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and the Schools of Internet of Things Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Yang welcomed the visitors and looked back on the 2026 international academic conference the two universities jointly hosted in Jakarta. She said she hoped both sides would build on that momentum, concentrate on their shared strengths in smart manufacturing, IoT and new energy vehicles, and pursue cooperation of greater depth and wider scope, thereby contributing to connectivity and mutual progress in China-Indonesia vocational education.
Rector Joko of Global University of Jakarta thanked WXUT for its warm reception and described the return visit as an important opportunity for two-way exchange and in-depth alignment between the two institutions, and as a new starting point for deepening joint programme delivery and opening up more diverse forms of cooperation. Board member Eddy Yusuf said his university would advance cooperation along four lines: a Chinese language center, school-enterprise-school collaboration, faculty training and joint research, and the development of Zheng He College.
The delegation also toured WXUT's industry-education integration platforms, including the Yijiangnan Cultural Heritage and Innovation Base and the Smart Manufacturing, Mechanical Manufacturing Training, IoT Training and New Energy Vehicle Training centers. The visitors saw the university's training equipment and integrated teaching facilities at close range and learned how its industry-education integration model works in practice. They said the tour had given them a clearer and more direct picture of WXUT's programme development, training conditions, practice-oriented education system and overall strength in engineering disciplines.
