To formulate scientific and standardized undergraduate academic training programs for English-taught international students of the 2025 cohort and further improve the university’s global talent cultivation quality, WXUT School of International Education, together with the Academic Affairs Office, recently held a thematic seminar in Conference Room F204 of Houde Building.
Vice President Xi Maolong attended the meeting, along with teaching administrators and program leaders from relevant secondary colleges, the Academic Affairs Office, the Physical Education Department, the Basic Courses Department, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College.
The seminar was chaired by Zhang Xiaoming, Dean of the School of International Education. He first briefed on the enrollment status and development trend of 2025 international students, emphasizing that training programs should be closely aligned with their learning characteristics and development needs. After that, Sun Taiwei, Vice Dean of school of International education, interpreted relevant policy documents of the Ministry of Education on the management of international students in China, providing a policy basis for the program formulation. Vice Dean Jiang Hongcheng put forward specific guiding suggestions based on the university’s actual situation.
In addition, representatives from various departments had in-depth discussions on key issues such as curriculum design, practical teaching, language support, and cross-cultural adaptation. They also offered constructive ideas on building training programs that meet professional standards while reflecting international characteristics.
In his concluding remarks, Vice President Xi Maolong noted that international student education is a key part of the WXUT’s internationalization strategy. He urged that WXUT is committed to ensuring that the talent development program for international students of 2025 cohort is scientific and rational.
