Recently, WXIT successfully held the 2023 African Vocational and Technical College Management and Key Teacher Training Project of “Future Africa – China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Plan”. WXIT has selected a team of Director Lu Min from the Department of Mechanical Manufacturing, who carefully designed teaching plans and innovated teaching modes based on the needs of African talent cultivation. The courses attracted more than 40 African teachers from 10 countries such as South Africa and Kenya to participate in intelligent manufacturing technology training, and have achieved good responses.

In order to fully demonstrate the high-quality international experimental training conditions of WXIT, this training was first presented in the form of a live broadcast at the provincial intelligent manufacturing equipment design and engineering application center. Lu Min introduced the development of non-mechanical processing talent training plans and the design process of intelligent tooling equipment through animation, simulation, and on-site demonstration. She focused on vivid examples of WXIT carrying out technological innovation and digital transformation of production lines to serve small and medium-sized enterprises. The trainees have expressed a deep understanding of the teaching system of China’s mechanical manufacturing majors and are confident in carrying out vocational education exchanges and cooperation.

The “Future Africa – China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Plan” is one of the key international cooperation tasks of the Ministry of Education. As one of the first pilot colleges and institutes for the project, WXIT has developed a joint training program for mechanical processing professionals with the Gert Sibande TVET College in South Africa. It has developed 10 bilingual core courses such as “Mechanical Drawing”, and has conducted various “Chinese+” training for 1000 person per day relying on the Confucius Classroom in South Africa, making outstanding contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between China and South Africa. The next step for WXIT is to continue to improve the cooperation and exchange mechanism with Africa, leverage the experience and advantages of “Chinese + vocational” skill training, explore joint talent training, and further highlight the distinctive brand of China-African vocational education cooperation.
