The online opening ceremony of the national training project “Improving Information Technology Application Ability of Equipment Manufacturing” for teachers from vocational and technical colleges in Sichuan Province organized by the School of Mechanical Technology of WXIT was held on the morning of January 8. President Zhou Guijin, Dean of the School of Continuing Education Cui Ping, project leader of the School of Mechanical Technology, project managers, as well as 15 trainees from vocational and technical colleges in Sichuan Province attended the opening ceremony. Yu Jincheng, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Technology presided over the event.

In his opening speech, President Zhou Guijin extended a warm welcome to all participants and briefed on the construction and development of our institute in recent years. He hoped that trainees would treasure this training and take it as an opportunity to achieve fruitful results, make new friends, conduct communication, learn from each other, and improve information technology teaching ability. Vice Dean Yu Jincheng introduced overall arrangement of the training project, highlighted results-oriented assessment and evaluation, and expressed full support for logistics on behalf of the School of Mechanical Technology.

The training mainly focuses on core professional competency of teacher, information technology teaching ability and information technology application ability by following the concept of “ethics-led, standard-driven and technology integration”. It aims to help trainees grow into outstanding teachers with noble professional ethics, modern vocational education concepts, strong teaching abilities and solid IT skills. All these will contribute to the development of teachers who will meet the needs of high-quality development of national vocational education.

The training will be divided into two phases. The first phase of online training will end in mid-January 2023, while the second phase of offline training will begin in early February 2023. After the opening ceremony, President Zhou Guijin gave a lecture entitled “Connotation and Path of Reforms on Teachers, Teaching Materials and Teaching Methods in Vocational Colleges”.
