The 23rd China Annual Conference for International Education organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) kicked off on February 16. With the theme on Digitalizing TVET, Reshaping Skills, the conference attracted 300 plus domestic and foreign vocational and technical colleges and over 500 representatives from education sector and enterprises. Wang yongli, Secretary General of CEAIE addressed the conference, and Lin Yu, Deputy Director General of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of Ministry of Education, delivered a keynote speech. Gong Fanghong, Secretary of the CPC WXIT Committee, attended two forums at the invitation of the conference, during which he gave a keynote speech and acted as moderator of Q&A session.

In the Forum on China-foreign Cooperation in Higher Vocational Education and Training, Party Secretary Gong Fanghong delivered a speech as Principal Committee Member of the Expert Committee of CJCC-TVET, and expounded on successful experience of major development, improvement of teaching staff and talent training in  project and school jointly operated by WXIT and our foreign partners. He looked forward to promoting transformation and upgrading of quality assessment and building an international brand with Chinese vocational education characteristics through comprehending nature of high-quality development of China-foreign cooperation in running schools.

At the “International Seminar on Cross-border TVET Delivery”, Party Secretary Gong gave a keynote speech entitled “Win-win Cooperation, Integration and Innovation: Exploration and Practice of China-Ireland Cooperation Model in Running Schools”. He introduced to domestic and foreign experts and scholars development history of our international school and elaborated on international talent training model of WXIT School of Ireland with a focus on moral education, engineering education and collaborative efforts. He enumerated measures of recruitment of foreign teachers, upgrading of digital resources and development of international “golden class” and showcased outcomes the School of Ireland achieved in talent training. Moreover, he put forward the proposal on strengthening the development of the system to ensure quality of China-foreign cooperation in running schools, so as to achieve the strategy of sustainable development. In Q&A session of the seminar, Party Secretary Gong made an analysis on problems and shortcomings confronting China-foreign cooperation in running schools as a moderator together with leaders from Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University and other colleges both at home and abroad. They looked into the future of China-foreign cooperation in running schools after offering solutions on improving student quality, formulating talent training plans and improving competencies of teachers. Excellent report and insightful perspectives of Party Secretary Gong received warm response from guests, which fully demonstrated fruitful achievements we achieved in international education and set a good example in high quality development of China-foreign cooperation in running schools.

Looking forward, we will strengthen development and operation of school jointly run by WXIT and our foreign partners, and push ahead with comprehensive development and accreditation of cooperatively-run school by Ministry of Education. By doing so, we strive to develop an institution that is domestically-leading and world-renowned with prominent intelligent manufacturing features.
