To celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, implement the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and Jiangsu Provincial Committee on learning party history, and demonstrate the importance of language in inheriting fine Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture and socialist advanced culture, WXIT organized the competition of reciting, writing and telling Chinese classic stories under the guidance of Jiangsu Language and Character Work Committee and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

To offer platform for our foreign students, the School of International Education attached great importance to this competition. A dozen of foreign students groups registered for the competition. The Mandarin teacher of International Education coached the participants on song selection, dance moves and costume picking before the game.

After rounds of selection in the School of International Education, three foreign students teams were shortlisted to compete against other teams in the Institute. They are Nziza Gloria (Burundi), Sabbir Md Hanif Al (Bangladash), Li Sunty (Cambodia) with their recitation Facing the Sea with Spring Blossoms, Son Harsono (Indonesia), Lifaanni Aprillia (Indonesia), Michael Pramudya Jiwo Wicaksono (Indonesia), Theodorus Leo Kristya Trinitas (Indonesia) with their recitation Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again, and Keke Aulia Asmiey Mangkulla (Indonesia) with their recitation The River All Red. The first prize went to Facing the Sea with Spring Blossoms and the other two recitation works won the second prizes.

The education for foreign students in WXIT has improved greatly and is entering into a new phase of high-quality development. With our increasing number of foreign students, enhanced school running and internationalization level, WXIT will continue to serve the national and local strategic demand and make greater contributions to build WXIT into a first-class institute and with first-class disciplines.
