On the morning of May 19, the 2020 Jiangsu Youth Friendship Envoy Appointment Ceremony hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government was held in Nanjing.

A total of 19 new Jiangsu youth friendship envoys were nominated in this selection to jointly deepen Jiangsu’s foreign cultural exchanges and civilization dialogues. The Bangladeshi student SABBIR MD HANIF AL recommended by WXIT was nominated as the 2020 Jiangsu Youth Friendship Envoy (the only foreigner).

SABBIR is a 2018 TSP (Talent Selection Program) international student of WXIT. Since joining the school, he has studied diligently and has excellent grades. He has also participated in many international (regional) skill competitions for international students and won awards.

During the 2020 COVID-19 epidemic, SABBIR was full of confidence in China and insisted on staying in China to support the fight against the epidemic. During his stay in school, SABBIR set an example to abide by the school's epidemic management regulations. In addition, SABBIR also gave full play to his major and English expertise, recorded a number of short videos to introduce knowledge of epidemic prevention to young people in Bangladesh and around the world on multimedia platforms in China and abroad, and shared touching stories about China's fight against the epidemic.

In order to encourage and support outstanding young people to actively participate in the cause of international friendly exchanges, in 2011, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province took the lead in launching the selection of Youth Friendship Envoys nationwide. The selection has been held for ten consecutive years, and 375 youth friendship envoys have been nominated. These youth friendship envoys have made important contributions to the expansion of Jiangsu's foreign exchanges in different fields.
